| THE ICE CREAM MAN RISES TO THE TOP TO SCREEN AT TARFEST FILM 2005 Los Angeles, CA. - The Ice Cream Man, a short film written and directed by Dylan Rush, will screen at TarFest Film 2005 at sunset (approximately 7:30 p.m.), Saturday, October 22, in the La Brea Tar Pits Park. The Ice Cream Man was selected by local programmers and producers from over 60 entries in a state-wide call for submissions. Presented on a large outdoor screen, the festival features a single two-hour program containing 12 short films that cover most genres and a wide range of subject matter. The Ice Cream Man, is a 35mm short illuminating the cultural melting pot of Venice Beach, CA. When a citizen of the former Soviet and a Korean immigrant face off in an ice cream vendors' turf war, a territorial dispute ensues that will lead them to a deeper understanding of not only each other, but also of the African American community that they now call home. Dylan Rush's "THE ICE CREAM MAN" debuted in San Francisco and continues to delight audiences across the country. His DVCam short "GOING SOMEPLACE" took Rush 2,500 miles as one of five finalists in the Perrier Across America filmmaking competition. TarFest Film 2005, a production of the Miracle Mile Players, will be held at the La Brea Tar Pits Park between the Page Natural History Museum and LACMA in the Miracle Mile district of Los Angeles.
